Cape Town – Brazen robbers hit the jackpot when they struck a cash-in-transit van all guns blazing on Friday morning and robbed a security guard of cash boxes.
The heist took place just after 9:30am, while stores were opening in Capricorn Square, Muizenberg.
Witnesses say the bullets flew, one smashing into the rear window of a parked Hyundai Getz.

Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel André Traut, confirmed the robbery and says no one was injured.
“The circumstances surrounding a cash-in-transit robbery is being investigated following an incident at Capricorn Square, Capricorn Boulevard, Muizenberg, at 9:35am,” he says.
“Armed suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing a security guard of cash boxes."
“During the incident, shots were fired, but fortunately no one was injured. No arrests have been made yet."
