Bangkok - A South African woman was arrested at Bangkok's international airport after police said they found 1.5kg of cocaine hidden in her dreadlocks, a news report said on Tuesday.
Nobanda Nolubabalo, 23, was searched on Monday when police said they noticed a white substance in her hair shortly after she stepped off a Qatar Airways flight that originated in San Paulo and flew through Qatar to Suvarnabhumi Airport, the Bangkok Post said.
The search uncovered 1.5kg of cocaine with a street value of 4.5 million baht (about R1.2 million) hidden in her dreadlocks, authorities said.
Police said the suspect admitted smuggling the drug and said she had been hired for 60 000 baht to deliver it to a customer at a hotel in Bangkok. - Sapa-dpa
Think about the millions of people that will be free of the drugs she was carrying and the lives that will be saved in the process

WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOUTH AFRICAN WOMEN THIS DAYS I GIVE UP NOW
so that it mean that when we go to airports if you have dreadlocks they are going to undo them ....that is not fair at all
Its so bad that goverment cant see that people are doing this cause they are hungry ,nobody can do such stupid thing if it wasnt for a good reason ,no matter what other ppl can say when you dnt have food on the table you can do anything to fill your stomach so stop judging ppl,the law needs to get to the root of these ppl sending these ladies to these countries cause im sure they knew nothng abt China - somebody whos rich is using these ppl, get the founder and start judging
I'm starting a School for Smart Girls... someone has to equip these young ladies with some life skills.
This very sad and not good for the image of our country. The image of the ladies is dented severely
Its sad that the country was in tears for the execution of another South Women, yet the very same thing happens again. It is indeed true, money is the root of all evil. I hope all South African woman are seeing this as a lesson.
Stupid mistake - but the people manufacturing the drugs are the real culprits and they deserve the death penalty....
this is insane, what is happening to this world. i think its really coming to an end, like who could have thought of hiding drugs in their hair. she deserve to rot in hell, im sorry!!!! What a disgrace, sies!!!
She must rot in jail for this because she is too young to do this, why did,nt you think of your future girl??
I am very sad about this young girl!!!It really showes that money is the root of all evil because im sure it was for money nothing else!!!
Agree with dave. They know exactly what they are doing and the death of another South African yesterday is no deterrence at all. This is not a mistake. This is deliberate.
Im in full agreement with Dave. Pay the price of stupidity people. You shouldn't be smuggling stuff in the first place!! No sympathy whatsoever!
Its sad we make our parents suffer for few minutes pleasure, just imagine if these ladies were not caught how many kids would have been drug addicts, and the sad thing they distribute these to our kids, to the parents of the lady from Cape Town my the spirit of the Lord and His Glory be with you at all time, He is our only comforter we send our greatest symphathy.........
dont do crime
this is so sick i wonder how many more of our south african women will fall into this trap before they realize that they are making a fool out of south africa .south africa should stop allowing this country to just be free for all then maybe we won't pick up all these strays that influence our people to do wrong this is just sad hey
WHy is everybody going on about these "poor ladies" who have made a mistake. A mistake is an error. This is not an error. She knew what she was doing, she knew she was smuggling illegal drugs otherwise why hide them in her hair and suitcase. Why should she receive sympathy? Did she think about the countless number of peoples lives she would be ruining by getting them hooked on cocaine. NO!!! She was only thinking about herself and how much money she can make...she will get what she deserves.
