Sangoma killing suspects to appear in court

Giyani - Nineteen people accused of killing a sangoma are expected to appear in the Giyani Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, Limpopo police said.

They would face murder and public violence charges, said Colonel Ronel Otto.

On Sunday, a 71-year-old sangoma was set alight and accused of bewitching a man who had committed suicide in the Hlanganani area.

The man was buried on Sunday and after the funeral the group went to the woman's house.

“They dragged her out of her house and burned her. She died on the scene.”

Some of the group were taken into custody after the incident and otherson Monday, said Otto.
