Johannesburg - On February 26 Sapa issued a story headlined “SOME CHARGES DROPPED AGAINST KZN COP” reporting that suspended KwaZulu-Natal Hawks head Maj-Gen Johan Booysen had racketeering charges against him dropped by the Durban High Court - and that the ruling did not affect the other charges Booysen faced.
It has since come to our attention that Judge Trevor Gorven not only set aside the racketeering charges, but also two murder counts, a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, and one of defeating or obstructing the course of justice.
