Johannesburg - Two teenage boys accused of the murder of two schoolgirls arrived covered in a blanket at the Protea Magistrate's Court on Friday.

The boys, both aged 16, were led by police into the children's court.

Their feet were chained together and they walked slowly between two police officers.

One wore a T-shirt and jeans, and the other wore a school uniform - a yellow shirt, grey pants, and school shoes.

They were arrested at a Soweto school on Thursday.

Thandeka Moganetsi and Chwayita Rathazayo, aged 15 and 16, were found dead in Dobsonville, Soweto, on Wednesday.

Police said they were dressed in George Khosa Secondary School uniforms and had cuts on their hands and necks.

Three black candles and two new razor blades were found on the scene.

The boys attended the same school. - Sapa
