A scuffle broke out outside the High Court sitting in Ventersdorp on Tuesday where judgment had started in the trial of a pair accused of killing rightwing leader Eugene Terre'Blanche.

One Ventersdorp resident was reportedly walking around with a doll with the words, “Sorry Martie” - the name of Terre'Blanche's wife -scribbled on it.

A man believed to be a member of the Gelofte Volk, a splinter group of the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging, walked up to the man with the doll and kicked him.

“We want to open a case against him,” said resident Pule Plaatjie, who was there to show support for Chris Mahlangu and his co-accused, Patrick Ndlovu.

Police intervened and formed a human chain between the rightwing members and those supporting the two accused. - Sapa
