Pretoria - Tshwane metro police were searching on Wednesday for the murderers of their head of security, Veli Masemola.
Masemola was found dead near his car on the Mabopane highway on Monday, said Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba.
“We are still searching for suspects and we have not found anything. We don't know what happened. It is still a mystery.”
Passers-by had informed the police of a vehicle idling on the side of the road. Masemola's two cellphones and house keys were found in the car.
When he was not found at his house police searched for him.
“He was found 15m from the vehicle. We suspect he was assaulted because he had several wounds,” Mahamba said.
The motive for the killing was not known and police were investigating.
