Second Hillbrow cop dies

Johannesburg -

A second police officer who was injured in a shooting in Hillbrow died in hospital on Saturday, Gauteng police said.

“He died this morning (Saturday),” said Lt-Col Katlego Mogale.

Last week, two policemen were patrolling the area at night when they noticed a suspicious vehicle and approached it.

A gunman inside the car opened fire on them at the corner of King George and Wolmarans Streets.

One of the officers died on the scene.
