Seven held after Cape murder

Cape Town - Seven men accused of murdering a man were arrested at a house in Melkhoutfontein, Still Bay, Western Cape police said on Monday.

The men, aged between 22 and 38, were taken into custody on Sunday after the death of Ampie Jansen, 38, Captain Bernadine Steyn said.

They had accused him of a crime and allegedly assaulted him. Jansen died on his way to hospital in Riversdale.

The seven were expected to appear in the Riversdale Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. - Sapa
