Johannesburg - Seven men accused of conspiring to rob a cash-in-transit vehicle were arrested in Meadowlands in Soweto on Tuesday, police said.

Lt-Col Katlego Mogale said the men were in two vehicles when they were cornered by police, who were acting on a tip-off.

They were aged between 30 and 40.

Mogale said the men were linked to two armed robberies which took place in Soweto, and police suspected they could be responsible for more.

“The suspects will appear in court soon on charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.” - Sapa
