Preotoria – Police in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested seven suspects for alleged business robbery, and managed to recover five vehicles.

Police said on Thursday the arrests followed an armed robbery in the Ibisi CBD in Umzimkhulu on Wednesday morning.

A police spokesperson said a group of unknown males pretending to be customers at a supermarket in Ibisi CBD rounded on employees and demanded cash.

“They allegedly shot and injured a 33-year-old store manager and they took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in their getaway vehicles,” said the spokesperson.

The injured victim was taken to hospital.

Police responded, spotting the suspects and giving chase, which resulted in the arrests and the confiscation of the vehicles.
