North West – Six suspects were arrested for being in possession of 42 counterfeit R200 notes, North West police have reported.
“It is alleged that the suspect were part of a syndicate operating from Hillbrow in Johannesburg. They allegedly operated several times in Klerksdorp for the past six months where they managed to use the counterfeit notes to purchase various items,” police said.
The suspects were arrested on Tuesday.
Police have requested that business owners and managers in and around Klerksdorp who may have suspected fake R200 notes contact Detective Warrant Officer Connie Nepgen of Klersdorp SAPS on (081) 464 5028 or 073 133 3264.
