A North West man was sentenced to six life sentences by the Rustenburg High Court on Friday for rape, murder and robbery, police said.
Reuben Tshepo Modise, 27, was convicted of raping and murdering 55-year old Mpho Caroline Mosheshe on September 11, 2010, Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said.
He strangled her in front of her six-year-old grandson, who then ran away.
Ngubane said Modise was also found guilty of raping four other women and robbing them.
The crimes were committed over nine months in 2010. He was arrested that October. - Sapa
