Chedeng, Limpopo - A six-year-old boy died when he fell into a pit toilet at Mahlodimela Primary School in Chedeng, the Limpopo education department said on Tuesday.

The Grade R pupil went to the toilet and did not come back, said spokesman Phuthi Seloba.

The department was investigating how the accident happened and how it could have been avoided.

Seloba said the information from the investigations would be used to prevent similar situations.

“We are sending our heartfelt condolences to the family.”
