Cape Town - Social Justice Coalition (SJC) member Dustin Kramer has no idea who sent him a threatening SMS on Friday, but is taking no chances and has reported it to both police and the Western Cape High Court.
Kramer is the deputy general secretary of the SJC, which focuses on safety and sanitation in Khayelitsha.
The SMS reads: “Mr Kramer u have 3 days to force angy and Isaac to admit that they killed and murded (sic) rowan. That is if u still luv your job and u want to come to Khayelitsha hassle free.”
“At the moment it is not entirely clear who it could be from,” Kramer said.
Of the references in the SMS to “Angy” and “Isaac”, Kramer said these were Angy Peter and her husband Isaac Mbadu. The two SJC employees, together with Azola Dayimani and Christopher Dina, are on trial in the Western Cape High Court for the kidnapping and murder of Rowan du Preez. They say they are innocent.
Du Preez was apparently necklaced in a vigilante attack in Mfuleni on October 14, 2012.
Peter has claimed a police officer was the actual culprit.
Police spokesman Tembinkosi Kinana said a case of intimidation had been opened, and would be sent to the Khayelitsha police for investigation.
