Mankweng - The 36-year-old man accused of killing four soccer players when his bakkie crashed into their minibus taxi appeared in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Friday, Limpopo police said.
Mahlodi James Machete's case was postponed to March 22 for further investigations, Constable Moses Molepo said.
“We are still waiting for blood samples,” said Molepo.
He is out on R2000 bail.
He was charged with murder, drunken driving, and giving incorrect information to police following the accident in November last year.
Machete allegedly crashed into the side of the minibus taxi transporting 25 members of the Polokwane City football club.
The taxi landed on its side in the path of oncoming traffic, where a bus carrying Zion Christian Church members slammed into it.
Khomotso Mpaketsane, Mojalefa Mphuthi, Koketso Takalo, and Benjamin Nthete were killed.
