Cape Town - A stash of firearms and ammunition was seized during a raid at a Parkwood home on Friday, Western Cape police said.

Police spokesman FC van Wyk said members of the crime prevention unit at the Grassy Park police station received a tip-off about firearms hidden at a house in Falcon Way, Parkwood.

“Members then went to said address and upon searching it they found in the safe, 1 x 12 Gauge shotgun, 3 x .38 special handguns, 12 x .45 rounds, 21 shotgun rounds and 10 x .38 special rounds,” said van Wyk.

“All firearms have serial numbers. Two male suspects, aged 34 and 48, were arrested on possession of unlicensed firearms and possession of ammunition.”

The men were expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s court soon.
