Cape Town - A case involving teenager Kyle Maspero, accused of the murder of stilt walker Rosemary Theron, was postponed by the Western Cape High Court on Wednesday.

He and Godfrey Scheepers, 20, were arrested for murder and defeating the ends of justice.

In June, Scheepers was referred to Valkenberg psychiatric hospital, Cape Town, for 30 days' assessment.

Prosecutor Susan Delloway provisionally withdrew the charges against Scheepers pending the outcome of his assessment.

At Wednesday's short proceedings before Judge Monde Samela, only Maspero was present. He was warned to return to court on August 8.

High courts throughout the country are in recess for the June school holidays.

Theron's daughter, Phoenix Racing Cloud, 19, entered into a plea bargain with the State in May for her role in her mother's killing.

She admitted helping her boyfriend Maspero strangle her 39-year-old mother with a rope in her home in Fish Hoek on March 7

last year.

Scheepers allegedly helped Phoenix and Maspero bury the body in a shallow grave.
