The trial of two men found in possession of stolen goats was postponed in Zeerust Magistrate's Court on Thursday, North West police said.

Tshepo Abram Mogaladi, 25, and Ernest Sibando Mogwe, 26, would be back in court on May 24 for a bail application, Warrant Officer Sam Tselanyane said.

He said police were patrolling the Leeufontein area when they spotted a bakkie carrying goats and a passenger at the back on Wednesday night.

The man at the back jumped off with some goats when he saw the police and disappeared into the night.

Police stopped the driver, Mogaladi, and seized two goats with an estimated value of R1200, Tselanyane said.

Further investigations led to the arrest of Mogwe.

Tselanyane said the men were arrested because they could not account for the stock.

Their case was postponed to May 24, for a bail application. - Sapa
