Durban - A vehicle tracking device led police to a cemetery in Clermont where they found a stolen car loaded with goods which had been taken during a home robbery in Westville.

A family in Dunkeld Road, Westville North, was held up in their driveway on Tuesday morning.

Three men confronted a man and his children.

Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane, said, “They grabbed him and shoved him inside the house and forced him to lie down.

“They tied him up and ransacked the house. They took televisions, jewellery, cash and his car,” said Zwane.

The vehicle was soon tracked and recovered by a tracking company.

Westville police said no injuries had been reported in the robbery and no arrests had been made.

“The vehicle’s course was tracked and police recovered a lot of stolen items in a cemetery in Clermont,” said Zwane. “Fingerprints will be examined.”

A case of house robbery has been opened at Westville police station.

Westville Community Police Forum spokesman, Caz Weeks, commended police and CarTrack on their swift work.
