A man wanted for terrorising farming communities in Limpopo has been arrested after four months on the run, police said on Monday.

“The suspect and his accomplice have been linked to 42 charges which include 20 house robberies, 13 business robberies, three attempted murders, three robberies with a firearm, two car hijackings and two murders,” said Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi.

They were arrested on Sunday for an alleged house breaking and theft in Louis Trichardt two months ago, he said.

The man escaped from Musina police station in April. He was being held there on a murder charge.

He and the other man were accused of, among other things, attacking farmer Jan Louw and killing a farm worker.

Mulaudzi said he was thought to have used a rifle stolen from a farm in Louis Trichardt while committing the alleged crimes. -
