Johannesburg - A man was arrested in Diepkloof, Soweto, on Monday for possession of and dealing in drugs, Johannesburg metro police said.

“A man with a gold RunX was stopped today around 2pm on the N1 near Nasrec with small packets of dagga in his car,” said Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.

“Officers discovered some more dagga and a drug called nyaope at his house in Diepkloof, Soweto.”

A metro police badge, belonging to a sergeant who had died in 2010, was also found at the 27-year-old man's house.

“The suspect was charged at Diepkloof police station for being in possession and dealing in drugs, and investigations will be done to establish how the man got hold of badge,” said Minnaar.
