Suspected drug dealer bust in Durban

Johannesburg - A 27-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night in Durban for being in possession of drugs valued at R10,000, police said.

Police spokesperson Colonel Jay Naicker said a police investigations revealed that the alleged dealer was set to deliver drugs to a premises on Musgrave Road.

“After conducting observation on the premises they found the suspect inside a VW Polo.”

Naicker said during a search of the vehicle, police officers recovered 17 packets of cocaine, 14 packets of methcathinone and one packet of crystal meth.

“The 27-year-old man was then arrested and detained at the Berea police station.”

Police officers from the Flying Squad also seized R12,600 in cash that was found in the suspect’s possession.

It is believed that the cash was from the proceeds of drug dealing.

Police discovered that the suspect was previously arrested for dealing in drugs.

He will appear in the Durban Magistrates Court on Friday, charged with dealing in drugs.
