Durban - Two suspects were arrested - one of them with a toy firearm - after a man was robbed of his cellphone in eManzimtoti.
A 35-year-old man had been walking along Briscoe Place when the robbers pounced on Monday.
Community Crime Prevention Organisation (CCPO) was alerted by the residents. Police and private security companies converged on the area and arrested the robbers on Dan Pienaar Road.
The robbers were found with a toy firearm, a knife and the victim’s cellphone.
The suspects were charged with robbery, possession of suspected stolen property and possession of a dangerous weapon, said Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane.
