Tavern murder case postponed

Vryburg - The case of murder against a 29-year-old man was postponed in the Vryburg Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Molatlhegi Makodi was accused of murdering a 37-year-old man of Ganyesa in the North West on Sunday.

“The suspect was remanded in custody until 1st September, for a bail application,” Captain Pelonomi Makau said in a statement.

It was alleged Makodi stabbed the man at a tavern on Sunday, during an altercation. The man died on the scene.

Meanwhile, two men were due to appear in the Atamelang Magistrate's Court in the province on Wednesday.

The two, aged 25 and 40, allegedly severely assaulted a man at a tavern on Sunday.

The man was taken to a nearby clinic where he was certified dead.

Police were investigating.
