Durban - A taxi owner accused of kidnapping and murdering Inkatha Freedom Party councillor Themba Xulu appeared briefly in the Durban Regional Court on Wednesday.

The case against Sanele Zondi, 34, was postponed to January 16.

Xulu was abducted from his home in KwaMashu's A-Section on October 5, allegedly by five men posing as policemen.

His body was found two days later in the eTafulene area, near Durban.

At the time, Colonel Jay Naicker said people collecting mushrooms discovered the decomposing body and alerted the police. Xulu had been shot several times. - Sapa
