Durban - A taxi owner accused of kidnapping and murdering Inkatha Freedom Party councillor Themba Xulu appeared briefly in the Durban Regional Court on Wednesday.

The case against Sanele Zondi, 34, was postponed to February 14 for further investigations.

Xulu was abducted from his home in KwaMashu's A-Section on October 5, allegedly by five men posing as policemen.

His body was found two days later in the eTafuleni area, near Durban. He had been shot several times.

At the time, police said people collecting mushrooms discovered the decomposing body. - Sapa
