A taxi driver who assaulted a homeless man has been sentenced to three-years correctional supervision, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said on Monday.

NPA Free State regional spokesman Phaladi Shuping said Aggrey Mojanaga, 38, appeared in the Bloemfontein Magistrate's Court on Monday and was ordered to serve his sentence at home, under supervision.

He was found guilty of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after being filmed assaulting a homeless man at a filling station in Navalsig. The video was posted on YouTube.
