A girl has been abducted and raped by a man in Boitekong, outside Rustenburg, North West police said on Wednesday.
“A 17-year-old girl was grabbed and forced into the suspect's car when she was walking from Boitekong Mall,” Captain Pelonomi Makau said in a statement.
The girl was driven to a field in Pardekraal, in Rustenburg, where she was raped, robbed of her cellphone, and R50 on Saturday at about 6.30pm.
The man fled the scene. Police were looking for him.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old woman from Mmakau, near Brits, was raped on Saturday shortly after noon, allegedly by three men, North West police said. The woman was walking with her boyfriend when the men approached and attacked them.
“One of the suspects grabbed the boyfriend and threatened him with a broken bottle. The suspects took the victim to the veld where they took turns raping her.”
The men fled the scene when the boyfriend brought a friend to rescue the woman. – Sapa
