Mankweng, Limpopo - The case against a Limpopo girl accused of killing her boyfriend was postponed by the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Friday, police said.

Constable Moses Molepo said the 14-year-old girl was to have applied for bail, but her lawyer asked for postponement to familiarise himself with the case.

She would be back in court on August 24 and remained in custody, Molepo said.

“Given the seriousness of allegations levelled against her, she won't be released under her parents' custody, even if she is a minor.”

The girl allegedly stabbed 17-year-old Andries Kubayi, a Grade 10 pupil at a local school, in the chest with a knife during a quarrel on July 10 in Makanye Section, Ga-Mothapo.

She fled, but police found her hiding in a local church on July 11. - Sapa
