Durban - Two teenagers, allegedly involved in a vicious gang attack that left four pupils seriously injured, are expected to plead guilty to attempted murder charges.

In the Pietermaritzburg Court on Wednesday, Sibusiso Shelembe and Lindokuhle Ntshali, both 19, indicated to Magistrate Ashin Singh that they intend pleading guilty.

They appeared alongside their co-accused, Sanele Dlamini, 19, and a 17-year-old minor, who cannot be named.

The matter was adjourned to April 23 for a formal bail application.

The four teenagers were arrested last Friday, after an attack on a school bus.

Two victims were stabbed in the chest while a third suffered facial and neck injuries. A fourth pupil was stabbed in the arm. They are from Sibongumbovo High School.

The 17-year-old victim is in a serious condition in hospital.

Education spokesman, Muzi Mahlambi, said they were investigating and would take appropriate action.
