Durban - A third suspect has been arrested for the kidnapping and killing of a Pretoria police officer, police said on Monday.

A 26-year-old woman was arrested in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands town of Estcourt in the early hours of Monday morning, spokesman Lt-Col Lungelo Dlamini said.

She would appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Major Abram Tselana, 45, was last seen when he went to withdraw R23 000 from a bank in central Pretoria on December 31.

A woman approached him and they drove off in a red VW Jetta. Four days later his body was found near Paul Kruger Street in Pretoria. He had an open wound to his head.

On January 11, the Jetta's 57-year-old owner was arrested.

A week ago a 34-year-old man was arrested in the Vaal Rand. The two men, Bheki Mhlongo and Zukisa Mablayi, were expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Monday and apply for bail.

Dlamini said police were looking for more suspects involved in Tselana's killing. - Sapa
