Mbombela - A third man implicated in the theft of 112 rhino horn pieces from the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency (MTPA) in Mbombela, appeared briefly in court on Wednesday.

KaNyamazane businessman Selby George Khoza, 39, appeared in the Nelspruit Magistrate's Court where his case was postponed, a Sapa correspondent reported.

Khoza was arrested by the Hawks in Pretoria on Monday after his name was mentioned in court as one of the people who allegedly worked with suspects Gideon Mtshali, 51, and Sizwe Leonard Malatjie, 34. The two were arrested on June 6 and 7.

Khoza's named was mentioned during Malatjie's bail application last week.

Mtshali and Malatjie have pleaded not guilty to charges of housebreaking and theft. Khoza had not yet been asked to plead to the same charges.

All three would remain in custody until their bail application on July 2.

The 112 pieces, weighing more than 80kg, were stolen from a strongroom at the MTPA's offices in Mbombela in April 20.
