Pretoria - Military Police have arrested three suspects in Potchefstroom for fraud and corruption which was allegedly perpetrated at an army base in 2008.
South African National Defence Force (SANDF) spokesperson Brigadier General Xolani Mabanga said the suspects were arrested on Monday following
lengthy investigations by Military Police Division of the SANDF.
Mabanga said: “The alleged crimes occurred in 2008 at Army Support Base (ASB) Potchefstroom when a company received a tender to erect a security fence around the base.
“Two of the three suspects are employees of the company which rendered service at that time to ASB Potchefstroom and the third suspect is a senior officer in the SANDF, who works at the same base.”
The suspects appeared in the Pretoria Commercial Crimes Court on Tuesday and were granted bail.
