Cape Town - Three men have been arrested for allegedly killing a 10-year-old girl in Gugulethu, Cape Town, Western Cape police said on Wednesday.
The men, aged between 24 and 38, were arrested on Tuesday night, Captain Frederick van Wyk said.
The girl's body was found under a bed in a room in her grandfather’s house in Gugulethu on Tuesday.
“The victim still had her school tracksuit top on,” said Van Wyk.
Police could not confirm whose room it was.
According to an earlier report, the girl, Chelsea Goso, was found in a big plaid bag still dressed in her maroon school uniform, her chest covered in blood. Neighbours claimed the girl had been raped and killed by relatives.
One of the girl's family members reported her missing on Monday.
“A post-mortem will be conducted to determine cause of death and also to see if she was sexually assaulted,” he said.
The men would appear in the Athlone Magistrate's Court soon. - Sapa and Cape Argus
