Cape Town - Western Cape police have arrested three suspects in connection with an attack on a police officer who was stabbed in the face and robbed of his equipment in Worcester.
Police spokesperson Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said that at about 8pm on Tuesday, the police officer was robbed near the train station in Worcester.
“The suspects stabbed the police office in the face before robbing him of State equipment which includes a laptop and two way police radio,” Rwexana said. “The police attached to Worcester SAPS followed up information and it led to the arrest of three suspects aged 18 ,24 and 31 year old.
“One suspect was charged for robbery with aggravated circumstances while the other two suspects were charged for possession of stolen property after the items robbed from the victim were found in their possession. All three suspect are due to appear at Worcester magistrate court on Thursday.”
