Bloemfontein - Three people appeared in the Fouriesburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday for the illegal possession of rhino horns, police said.
Bethlehem property agent Lora Naude, 61, her husband Christo, 57, and a Lesotho citizen allegedly tried to sell four rhino horns to an undercover policeman.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Zweli Mohobeleli said the Naude couple was released on bail of R7000 each.
The bail hearing of Elizabeth Abrahams, 58, the Lesotho citizen, would be held on August 2 in the same court. She remained in custody.
The Naude couple stayed on the farm Maria, managed by Christo Naude, near Fouriesburg, where the four rhino horns were seized during a police search.
The horns were estimated to be worth R2.5 million. - Sapa
