Johannesburg - Three alleged rapists have been arrested in Mofolo in Soweto, Gauteng, police said on Thursday.
“Three suspects, an 18-year-old and two others aged 17, were arrested on Wednesday, following the gang rape of a 15-year-old girl in Mofolo North,” said Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela.
He said the three were arrested after residents tipped off police.
“Residents noticed a lot of movement at a shack owned by one of the arrested suspects.”
Police found the girl there.
“Her underwear was full of blood and she appeared to have been drugged because she could not talk properly or stand.”
Makhubela said the two 17-year-old suspects were released into their parents' custody. - Sapa
