Johannesburg metro police have arrested three men in connection with the deaths of two officers and the serious injury of another.

Johannesburg - Three men accused of killing two policemen and injuring another were arrested in the Johannesburg CBD and Protea Glen on Tuesday, according to Johannesburg metro police.

Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said two were caught at a house in Protea Glen, Soweto.

The third man was arrested in the Johannesburg CBD while travelling in a taxi.

Three unlicensed pistols, a revolver and an R-5 rifle were confiscated during the arrest.

Minnaar clarified that the men were accused of injuring one police officer, killing another, and killing one metro police officer in separate incidents in 2011 and 2012. - Sapa
