Two men were arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Goodwood on Friday, Cape Town police said.
Captain FC Van Wyk said flying squad members along with members of the command centre were in pursuit of a suspicious vehicle on Friday morning.
“The chase ended up at the N1 City Mall Goodwood. The suspects jumped out of the vehicle and tried to flee from the scene.”
He said one suspect was arrested at the vehicle and the other 100 metres away.
The officers seized an illegal firearm, a stolen Toyota Conquest and R45 000 in cash.
“After further investigation it was found that the suspects robbed a lady of the R45 000 in Letchworth Street, Edgmead, Bothasig.”
The men were detained at Goodwood police station and would appear in the Goodwood Magistrate's Court on Monday. - Sapa
