Two Eastern Cape men have been beaten to death, allegedly by residents of Sikhobeni in Cofimvaba, east of Queenstown, police said on Friday.

Lieutenant-Colonel Sibongile Soci said police were called to the scene, after the men, both aged 25, were attacked.

They were accused of robbing people in the area.

Soci said it was not clear whether there were robbery cases opened against the two.
