Cape Town -

Police arrested two suspected robbers after a car chase in Bishop Lavis in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Two men aged 28 and 29 were apprehended by Ravensmead police in Bishop Lavis after they attempted to break into a business in Burgundy Estate in Bothasig, police spokesman Elvis Mahote said.

“Police members arrested both suspects. One suspect is receiving medical treatment at a nearby hospital after he tried to flee from the crime scene,” Mahote added.

Bothasig police are investigating a business break-in. The men, who apparently sped off in a car and were chased by police, are expected to appear in Goodwood Magistrate’s Court soon.

The incident was reported on the “traffic fines, cameras & updates in Western Cape” Facebook page, leading to an outpouring of congratulations to the police on the site.
