Sandton - Two car thieves were arrested after a shoot-out with police near the Grayston shopping centre, in Johannesburg, on Thursday, Gauteng police said.

Captain Kym Cloete said the men got stuck in traffic in a stolen car. When they saw police vehicles approaching they started shooting. Police retaliated, wounding one of the men.

Both were arrested. Two firearms and the car were recovered. - Sapa
