Johannesburg - An accountant and a man believed to be a member of a syndicate dealing in counterfeit bank notes were arrested in Jabulani, Soweto, Gauteng police said on Tuesday.
Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said police, acting on a tip-off, went to a house in Jabulani on Monday at 7pm and found the two allegedly printing R100 notes amounting to R100 000.
The notes were a mixture of new notes with former president Nelson Mandela's face, and old notes.
They were arrested and charged with fraud and possession of counterfeit money.
The accountant, a woman aged 29, and the 32-year-old man, were expected to appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Wednesday. More arrests were expected. - Sapa
