Germiston -

Two people were arrested in Germiston on Thursday after being found in possession of drugs, Ekurhuleni metro police said.

The drugs were found inside a bakkie driven by a 26-year-old man in Elsburg and at his residence in Tedstoneville, said Inspector Kobeli Mokheseng.

“Officers stopped a bakkie which was being driven by a nervous man at the corner of Brug and Voortrekker roads.”

On searching his vehicle, a packet containing 300g of crystal methamphetamine (tik) was found in the dashboard compartment.

The man led police to a house in Tedstoneville, where a 24-year old woman was arrested. During a search, more drugs, including cat (methcathinone) and rock (cocaine in solid form), were found in a container on top of the fridge. The drugs were worth about R30 000

on the street.

The two would appear in the Germiston Magistrate's Court on charges of possession of illegal substances and dealing in drugs. - Sapa
