Two held for Georgedale murders

Durban - Two men accused of committing murders in Georgedale near Hammersdale have been arrested, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Tuesday.

The men, aged 27 and 35, were arrested on Monday, Captain Thulani Zwane said.

The 27-year-old allegedly shot dead two people and wounded three in December.

The 35-year-old man allegedly shot dead Constable Siyabonga Khumalo, 25, in March and wounded a woman who was with him.

Police confiscated two unlicensed firearms during the arrests.

Both men were expected to appear in the Mpumalanga Magistrate's Court on charges of murder, attempted murder and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
