Two men were arrested after they allegedly broke into a house and stole goods in Butterworth on Thursday, Eastern Cape police said.
Captain Jackson Manatha said a window of the house was broken to gain entry after the occupants left for work.
He said the police, acting on a tip-off from residents, had arrested the men, aged 22 and 29. They were found in possession of items valued at R70 000.
Manatha said the pair would appear in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court soon to face charges of housebreaking and theft. – Sapa
