Johannesburg - Two men have been arrested for two murders in Soweto at the weekend, Gauteng police said on Sunday.
A 35-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Sunday for allegedly hitting another man over the head with a knobkerrie in Kliptown after allegedly fighting over a hat the night before, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.
The man was found dead in the veld in the area.
In a separate incident, a 29-year-old man was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly stabbing and killing another man in Naledi, after getting into an argument while drinking together.
Both men are expected to appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Monday on murder charges. - Sapa
