Two held for Soweto robbery

Comment on this story

Two men have been arrested after a shop owned by a foreign national was robbed in Zondi, Soweto, police said on Thursday.

Four gunmen entered the shop and demanded cash and other items on Wednesday, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubele said.

Makhubele said residents alerted the police.

“Police found one suspect on the street with some items, and another one was still in the shop.”

He said the other two men were still being sought.

Some stolen goods and cash were recovered, said Makhubele.

The two will appear in Protea Magistrate's Court on robbery charges. - Sapa
