Two men accused of killing former ANC MP David Dlali appeared in the Matatiele Magistrate's Court on Friday, Eastern Cape police said.
Brigadier Miranda Mills said Simthembile Jakalase, 22, and Matselandile Mehlomakhulu, 20, would be back in court on June 19.
They remain in custody.
Jakalase was the farm manager while Mehlomakhulu worked as a shepherd on Dlali's farm. They were arrested on Tuesday, a day after his body was found near the farm.
They appeared in the Mthatha Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, when the matter was transferred to Matatiele.
Mills said police recovered an AK-47 rife, two magazines and 11
rounds of ammunition, as well as R5000.
Dlali's funeral was held on Thursday. Born on January 23, 1960, in Mount Frere, Dlali served in various Western Cape provincial structures. He was a member of the provincial executive committee and chairman of the Dullah Omar region.
He served as an MP, representing Gugulethu between 2001 and 2009. He was special adviser to Minister of Women, Children and People with Disabilities, Lulu Xingwana. - Sapa
